Short Bio

Xiaoyan Guo (Grace) is currently associate professor in School of International Studies at University of International Business and Economics, Beijing. She has been dedicating herself to Sociolinguistics, an interdisciplinary field that integrates anthropological-ethnographic research methodology, sociological theories and linguistic analysis to explore the nexus between language and society. Her research topics cover language and identity, minority education, migration, discourse analysis and so on. She has been teaching Business English to English and non-English majors, An Introduction to Sociolinguistics to English majors etc. Her works have been published in such journals as Journal of Sociolinguistics, Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, Language Policy, International Journal of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education and so on.
