Introduction

Shanghai Forum for Education Excellence (SFEE) is one of the major international research brands of the School of Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. SFEE aims to build a platform for experts and scholars in the field of global education to exchange and cooperate, and to discuss the future of global education. The conference will focus on the cutting-edge topics of education research and explore the development and application of the discipline of education in the interdisciplinary context. Through this international platform, we look forward to building a closer international cooperation network, promoting exchanges and cooperation in the field of global education research, contributing wisdom and strength to promote the sustainable development of education, and making positive contributions to the progress of global education.

With the rapid development of Information and Communications Technology, big data has transformed the field of education and psychology, facilitating innovations of educational technology, promoting integration of the education industry. Meanwhile, it brings in new challenges for theoretical research and pedagogical decision-making in education. Under such context, the Second Shanghai Forum for Education Excellence (SFEE 2023) will be held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China on Thursday to Saturday, November 2-4, 2023.

The theme for SFEE 2023 is "The Next Chapter for Educational and Psychological Research". This year's conference will concentrate on research topics including artificial intelligence in education, educational data mining, student mental health and development, and prevention and intervention of mental illness. More specifically, it will focus on the development and application of education and psychology research from the interdisciplinary perspective, discuss new measures and solutions to improve students'  mental health in the new era and advance methods of educational research leveraging the big data.
